Made for studio shooting that requires you to morph your light source, this MOZZIE Deluxe Double Header Kit from Hudson Spider has two aluminum fixtures with wide color range as well as both wired and wireless DMX. Each head really does look like a six-legged spider with legs that can be brought in, covered with the included black backing, and used in either parabolic mode or opened flat like a star for a wall of light. The fixtures break down into a tube, and come with a 400W ballast and splitter cable, a parabolic backing, an eggcrate grid, a teaser, a hand grip, two Baby Pins, and two umbrellas. It all fits in a waterproof case with a custom insert.

Developed by cinematographers, gaffers, and grips, the kit by Hudson Spider is built around a fixture that measures 29″ in diameter and can be set up in five minutes. It breaks down and fits into a shock and waterproof rolling cylinder travel case. The fixture’s six hinged aluminum and steel arms can be arranged in a parabolic shape for a total of 1224 closely spaced LEDs that combine to create a soft continuous light source. In addition to softness, the Mozzie has a unique wraparound quality, snappy contrast, and a crisp specular quality that some have called “magical” while most refer to it simply as a beauty light.
